About Us

Who we are

I was born loving numbers.  As a small child I would often play a game of bank manager with my friends, imitating my father’s work.  At university I was top of my Finance class and after graduation I started my career working with financial planning software developers, to design efficient practices before moving into advice.  Throughout my career I have worked with mums and dads, business owners, aged care residents, ultra-high net worth clients, medical professionals and some of the highest earning mining executives in Australia.  I love getting my teeth into a complex client strategy and found immense accomplishment in figuring out solutions for these clients.

Then tragedy struck our family and I spent 6 months sitting around hospitals.  I watched the amazing work the nurses did with very sick people, going through some of the worst things a human can go through, and a switch flipped, changing my view of the world and of my career.  From that moment I knew… I wanted my work to matter too.

I joined the leadership team within a residential Aged Care facility, during the roll out of the new Government funding and saw first hand how the funding of “Care Minutes” within a facility is allocated to its residents.  I sat with residents every day and just talked. I supported them when they were homesick and heard stories about their lives and their families.  It started to fill my cup and in those moments, Nurture Advice was born.

Who we work with

Our goal is to support our clients through the complexities of retirement and Aged Care planning by sharing our expertise and knowledge, providing guidance and being a shoulder for our clients to lean on.

We work with retirees and have robust discussions about what retirement will look like when the post work income anxiety kicks in.  We work out the optimal income to draw down from assets and strategies to ensure their money lasts.

We also talk about what would happen if they had to go to aged care in the future and what they can do now to protect themselves financially for that.

We also work with those clients who suddenly find themselves needing Aged Care or whose loved ones are in hospital and not allowed to return home and finding a bed in a care facility has become urgent.

We determine the most viable strategies for supporting Aged Care fees so that assets are preserved, Centrelink benefits are maximised, ongoing fees reduced and cashflow is sustainable for the duration of their time in care.

Our Purpose

We want what we do every day to matter.  To make a difference to people’s lives.  To not be remembered as just really great financial advisers but as supporters of our community.

How will we do this?

  • By giving our clients the gift of peace of mind.
  • By sharing our expertise and knowledge and explaining the complexity.
  • By designing a service offering that relieves their admin burden.
  • By taking the time to fully understand our clients needs and tailoring our advice and investment strategies to suit them.
  • By guiding our clients through their individual journey and being there to answer their questions and steer them in the right direction.
  • By being passionate advocates for the ageing population and ensuring that every person is treated with respect and dignity.
  • By giving our clients the ability to focus on the right things, such as being there for their loved ones, as opposed to focusing on admin burdens, confusing acronyms and financial jargon.
